Round Steak Fajita

You won't be disappointed with this fajita recipe! You've probably heard of round steak before. It is also commonly known as cube steak, minute steak, & country fried steak. This is a cut that has been tenderized before packaging. Because it's tenderized it cooks quickly, which is one reason why it's popular for quick night dinners. This cut is also usually more affordable and so goes further for feeding a family! Round steak fajitas: Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs Hilltop round steak
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1-3 bell peppers
  • ½ small onion
Instructions:
  1. Slice onions, bell peppers & set aside
  2. Toast tortillas in olive oil if desired & set aside
  3. In mixing bowl, combine Worcestershire, chili powder, cumin, paprika & garlic powder. If desired add cayenne pepper to spice it up a bit!
  4. Thinly slice steak and salt & pepper to taste
  5. Add more olive oil to medium skillet over medium heat
  6. Once the oil is hot, ass the sliced steak pieces to the skillet and brown meat.
  7. Once the steak is browned add the sauce mixture over the top & stir to coat all the meat.
  8. Place lid over skillet and simmer for 5-10 min on low heat stirring occasionally.
  9. One cooked, remove steak from pan and allow to rest while you cook the onions & peppers.
  10. In the same skillet you cooked the meat, add the peppers & onions until tender.
Serve on the warm toasted tortillas. Enjoy with your favorite trimmings! Cheddar cheese, sour cream, & cilantro are some of our favorites!
